German Chancellor Merz says has doubts on aims of Iran war
Chancellor Friedrich Merz on Friday expressed scepticism that the US and Israel had a clear strategy to end the war in Iran, but he said Germany would, in principle, be ready to take part in an international stabilisation mission after the end of hostilities.
"I'm just not convinced that what's happening right now - what Israel and America are doing - will actually lead to success," he said at a conference hosted by the German FAZ newspaper.
