Hezbollah says it targeted Israeli advance toward Litani River
Hezbollah said it carried out multiple attacks on Israeli soldiers who crossed into Lebanese territory, targeting forces advancing toward the Litani River, Al Jazeera reported.
The group said the operations βββ began after midnight local time and included strikes using rockets, artillery shells and drones near the town of Taybeh in southern Lebanon.
Hezbollah also said it targeted two Israeli Merkava tanks near a water reservoir in the town of al-Qantara in the Marjayoun district.
Israeli officials have said their operations aim to push forces north of the Litani River and create a βbuffer zoneβ inside Lebanese territory, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu describing the objective as protecting northern Israel.
