Hamas has called on Pakistan and the wider Islamic world to strengthen support for Palestinians and accelerate efforts to rebuild the Gaza Strip amid the ongoing war. Dr Khalil al-Hayya, head of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in Gaza, urged Islamic nations, charitable organisations and religious scholars to take greater responsibility in supporting Palestinian steadfastness. In a recorded address to the general meeting of Jamaat-e-Islami in Pakistan on Sunday, al-Hayya said reconstruction of Gaza was essential to ensure the territory remains โ€œa steadfast fortress for the nation on the path to liberationโ€. He also warned of increasing threats facing Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem, including repeated incursions and attempts to impose a temporal and spatial division of the mosque compound. […]
