UAE adviser calls for guarantees and compensation in any deal with Iran
Anwar Gargash, diplomatic adviser to the UAE president, said any political solution to the conflict with Iran must include firm guarantees to prevent future attacks and uphold a principle of non-aggression.
In a post on X, Gargash said Tehran should also provide compensation for strikes on civilian infrastructure and populations across Gulf states.
He accused Iran of misleading its neighbours about its intentions before the war, saying it had revealed “premeditated aggression” despite regional efforts to avoid escalation.
Gargash added that binding security guarantees and reparations were now essential in confronting what he described as the primary threat to Gulf security.
