Pakistan hosts talks with Saudi, Turkey, Egypt to push Iran war de-escalation

Pakistan says it is stepping up diplomatic efforts to halt the widening Israeli-US war on Iran, hosting regional powers for urgent talks in Islamabad.

Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Egypt explored "possible ways to bring an early and permanent end to the war" in the Middle East during Sunday’s meeting.

The four countries convened in the Pakistani capital to coordinate a joint push for de-escalation, as fears grow of a broader regional spillover.

In a recorded statement, Dar added that participants expressed confidence in Pakistan’s role as a mediator. He also said China "fully supports" Islamabad’s initiative to potentially host direct US-Iran talks.
