Israeli strike hits Lebanese army checkpoint in south
An Israeli strike hit a Lebanese army checkpoint in the country's south on Monday, a Lebanese military official said, in the first direct attack on a military post since the start of Israel's war on Lebanon.
The official, who requested anonymity, said at least five soldiers were wounded.
Since the start of the war on 2 March, the military has mourned eight soldiers killed by Israeli fire in southern and eastern Lebanon while off duty.
