Egypt’s decision to sharply increase fees at the Taba border crossing has triggered widespread anger in Israel, with calls emerging for a boycott of travel to Egypt. According to the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, the fee on the Egyptian side of the crossing rose to $120 per person, marking a steep increase from $60 just days earlier and significantly higher than the $14-$25 range recorded late last year.
