Pope urges Trump to seek ‘off-ramp’ from war on Iran

Pope Leo XIV has called on US President Donald Trump to find an “off-ramp” to end the US-Israeli war on Iran.

Speaking to journalists outside his residence in Castel Gandolfo, near Rome, the US-born pontiff said he hoped Trump was looking for a way to reduce the violence.

“I’m told that President Trump has recently stated that he would like to end the war,” he said. “Hopefully, he’s looking for an off-ramp.”
