Iran says strike on pharmaceutical facility hits medical supply chain
Iran said a US-Israeli strike on a pharmaceutical facility in Tehran has dealt a “significant blow to the national medical supply chain,” after the site’s production units were destroyed.
State media identified the facility as part of the Tofigh Daru company, a key producer of raw materials used in hospital drugs and specialised treatments.
Deputy Health Minister Mahdi Pirsalehi said the attack caused the “total destruction of the production units and the factory’s research and development department.”
“It was one of the country’s most critical producers of raw materials for hospital drugs, operating room essentials, and certain anti-cancer medications,” he said.
Iranian officials condemned the strike, with the Foreign Ministry calling it a “blatant war crime and crime against humanity.”
