The head of Turkey’s intelligence service, Ibrahim Kalin, met on Tuesday with Khalil al-Hayya, head of the Hamas political bureau’s negotiating delegation, along with his accompanying team, Anadolu Agency reported. According to Turkish security sources cited by the agency, the meeting in Ankara addressed Israel’s ongoing attacks on the Gaza Strip and the continuing humanitarian crisis in the territory. The two sides also discussed settler violence in the West Bank and restrictions imposed on Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. Both sides stressed the need for Israel to fulfil its commitments arising from the first phase of the Gaza peace plan.
