IRGC says Hormuz under its control amid Trump ceasefire remarks

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said the Strait of Hormuz is “firmly and dominantly” under its control and will not be opened to what it described as US pressure.

In a statement, the IRGC said the waterway “will not be opened to the enemies of this nation by the ridiculous displays of the US president”.

The remarks came shortly after Trump said he would consider a ceasefire only if the strait is “open, free and clear”.
