Malaysia to roll out work-from-home policy to curb fuel use
Malaysia will introduce a new work-from-home policy for employees across government ministries, agencies and state-linked companies from April 15, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said.
βThe aim is to reduce fuel consumption and ensure the sustainability of energy supply,β the PM said in a statement late on Wednesday.
Authorities will release further details in the coming weeks, as officials and state energy firm Petronas work to secure stable fuel and electricity supplies.
The move comes as Malaysia spends nearly $1bn each month on subsidies to keep fuel prices down.
