The British home secretary said Wednesday she approved a police request to ban the upcoming Al Quds Day march, marking the first ban on the protest march in the UK since 2012, Anadolu reports. “I am satisfied doing so is necessary to prevent serious public disorder, due to the scale of the protest and multiple counter-protests, in the context of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East,” Shabana Mahmood wrote on the US social media company X.
