IRGC says it destroyed US aircraft tracking crew of downed fighter jet in Isfahan

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it destroyed a US aircraft that was tracking the crew of a downed fighter jet in southern Isfahan, Tasnim news agency reported. 

The statement said the “enemy bird” was targeted by Iranian forces, though no further details were immediately provided.

The development comes amid search and rescue operations following the downing of a US F-15E fighter jet in Iran, which has triggered intense clashes and competing claims from both sides. 

President Donald Trump confirmed the rescue of a US weapons systems officer whose jet was shot down over Iran, calling it one of the most daring operations in US history.
