IRNA: Strike on petrochemical hub kills 5, wounds 170

At least five people were killed and around 170 others wounded in air strikes targeting a major petrochemical complex in southwestern Iran, according to Iranian state media.

The strikes hit the Mahshahr Special Petrochemical Economic Zone in Khuzestan province, a key industrial hub near the Persian Gulf.

A provincial security official confirmed the casualty figures, the state news agency IRNA reported. The facility is a central part of Iran’s petrochemical sector, accounting for a significant share of national production.
