Japan-linked tanker clears Strait of Hormuz

A second Japan-linked vessel has transited the Strait of Hormuz, with Mitsui OSK Lines saying the Indian-flagged LPG tanker Green Sanvi made the crossing on Saturday after being stranded in the Gulf since the war began.

β€œThe safety of the crew, vessel and cargo has been confirmed,” the company said, according to NHK.

The tanker was among 45 Japan-linked ships that had been stuck in the region amid restrictions on passage through the strategic waterway.

The crossing signals a limited easing for some vessels despite ongoing tensions, according to NHK.
