Fires reported at Abu Dhabi’s petrochemical plant, operations halted

Authorities in Abu Dhabi said multiple fires broke out at the Borouge petrochemical plant after debris from an aerial interception fell on the facility.

“Operations at the plant have been immediately suspended pending a damage assessment,” the Abu Dhabi Media Office said, adding that emergency teams are responding.

“No injuries have been reported,” officials said, noting the fires were caused by debris following “successful interceptions by air defence systems”.

Authorities urged the public to rely on official sources and avoid spreading unverified information.
