EU to provide €100m in humanitarian aid to Lebanon, von der Leyen says
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said the EU plans to provide €100m ($115.85m) in humanitarian aid to Lebanon following a phone call with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun.
In a post on X on Wednesday, von der Leyen said the bloc had already delivered 40 tonnes of supplies and plans to organise further humanitarian flights, expressing solidarity with Lebanon and welcoming the decision to ban all Hezbollah military activities.
The EU leader did not refer to Israel's oslaught on Lebanon and did not criticise Israel or the US for their war.
