Report: 15 Americans wounded in Iranian drone strike on Kuwait base

Fifteen American personnel were wounded in an Iranian drone strike on the Ali Al Salem air base in Kuwait, CBS News reported, citing two US officials. Most of those injured have since returned to duty, the report said.

The base, about 37 kilometres (23 miles) from the Iraqi border, is a key hub for US operations in the region.

The strike comes amid escalating tensions following the US-Israeli offensive on Iran on 28 February and subsequent retaliatory drone and missile attacks targeting Israel and other countries hosting US assets.
