Syria condemns Israeli assault on Lebanon
Syria’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement that it condemns Israeli aggression against "sisterly" Lebanon, calling for an immediate ceasefire.
In a post on X, the ministry stressed that Israel's wave of attacks are a "clear violation of international law, international humanitarian law, and the principles of the UN Charter".
It also called on the international community to "assume its responsibilities in confronting Israeli violations".
In the span of 10 minutes on Wednesday, the Israeli army struck 100 targets across the country, most of them concentrated in Beirut.
Over 250 people were killed and more than a 1160 left injured as a result.
