UN rights chief condemns ‘unrelenting pattern of killings’ conducted with 'impunity' in Gaza

United Nations high commissioner for human rights Volker Turk condemned the ongoing killing of Palestinians in Gaza, despite an alleged “ceasefire” in the region.

“The unrelenting pattern of killings reflects continuing disregard for Palestinian lives, enabled by sweepy impunity,” Turk said in a statement on Friday.

He added that there was no way for Palestinians to guarantee their own survival in the territory, regardless of where they may have been instructed to seek safety.
