Trump: Only reason Iranians are alive ‘is to negotiate’

US President Donald Trump wrote in a post to Truth Social on Friday that the Iranians have “no cards” and said that “the only reason they are alive is to negotiate”.

“The Iranians don’t seem to realise that they have no cards, other than a short term extortion of the World by using International Waterways,” Trump wrote in the post.

This comes as a ceasefire hangs in the balance between the US and Iran ahead of peace talks in Pakistan. 

Trump has also threatened on Friday that the US is “loading up ships” to use against Iran if talks fail.
