Israeli strikes kill 1,953 in Lebanon, health ministry says

Israeli strikes have killed at least 1,953 people and wounded 6,303 others in Lebanon since 2 March, the country’s health ministry said.

The toll comes amid ongoing fighting between Israel and Hezbollah.

Lebanese officials said at least 357 people were killed in a single day of Israeli attacks on Wednesday, with a “very large number of remains” yet to be identified.

Israeli and Lebanese envoys also held a phone call as diplomatic contacts continued alongside the conflict.
