Israeli strike kills six Palestinians at Gaza checkpoint, medics say

An Israeli air strike hit a police checkpoint in Bureij camp in central Gaza early Saturday, killing at least six people and injuring several others, medics said.

It was not immediately clear whether all those killed were police members, and there was no immediate comment from the Israeli military.

The strike comes amid continued tensions despite a US-brokered deal last October aimed at halting violence.

Medics and police sources say dozens of Hamas-led police personnel have been killed in Israeli strikes since then, while both sides have accused each other of violating the agreement.
