Iranian spokesperson accuses US media of double standards
Iranian foreign ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei has called out the hypocricy within the “US policy and media space” which “normalises extortion through the threat or public incitement of terror, violence, and manslaughter.”
“While U.S. authorities accuse Iran of lacking ‘good faith’ and engaging in ‘extortion,’ elements within the U.S. policy and media space are outright recommending the assassination of Iranian negotiators in the event that negotiations fail,” he said in a post to X.
The statement was posted alongside screenshots taken from a Washington Post article with the headline “Iran thinks it has leverage. Here’s how Trump can prove it wrong.”
Baqaei added that the “public incident for state terrorism must be denounced by all."
