Evening update

• 14 hours of ceasefire talks came to an end after no agreement was reached, to continue on Sunday, according to Iranian media. 

• Over 500 people were arrested in Trafalgar Square protesting the ban on Palestine Action in the first demonstration since the proscription was ruled unlawful by the High Court.

• US President Donald Trump told reporters outside the White House on Saturday that “regardless of what happens” in Iran war negotiations, “we win”.

• IRGC says no military vessels will pass through Hormuz and the Iranian military “strongly denied” the claim by the US Central Commander that US warships had transited through the strait.

• Lebanon’s health ministry said that at least 2,020 people have been killed and 6,436 wounded in Israeli strikes since 2 March.

• Negotiators said that the peace talks between the US and Iran hit a “stalemate” over the Strait of Hormuz, according to the Financial Times.

• A young Palestinian man was killed on Saturday after being shot by Israeli settlers during an attack on the village of Deir Jarir, east of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank.
