Trump: ‘Regardless of what happens, we win’ in Iran

US President Donald Trump told reports outside the White House on Saturday that “regardless of what happens” in Iran war negotiations, “we win”.

“We’ve totally defeated the country. So let’s see what happens: maybe they make a deal, maybe they don’t. It doesn’t matter. From the standpoint of America, we win,” Trump added.

He claimed that the US was “sweeping” the Strait of Hormuz of mines, after the American military reported that two ships had passed through the channel, which Iran denied.

Trump also warned that China will have “big problems” if the country ships arms to Iran as negotiations between the US and Iran are ongoing in Islamabad.
