Iran says Islamabad talks involved extensive exchanges on key issues

Iran’s foreign ministry said negotiations in Islamabad included the exchange of numerous texts and messages as discussions continued between Iranian and US teams.

A spokesperson said key issues under discussion included the Strait of Hormuz and Iran’s nuclear program.

The spokesperson said the success of the diplomatic process depends on the “seriousness and good faith” of the other side, adding that progress requires avoiding what Iran described as excessive or illegal demands and recognising its “legitimate rights.”
