Trump threatens China with 'staggering' tariffs if it helps Iran

US President Donald Trump has threatened China with "staggering" new tariffs if the country provides military assistance to Iran.

"If we catch them doing that, they get a 50 percent tariff, which is a staggering - that's a staggering amount," the president said in an interview with Fox News.

Trump said: "We’re not going to let Iran make money on selling oil to people that they like.

"I could take out Iran in one day… I could have their entire energy, everything, every one of their plants, their electric generating plants, which is a big deal."
