Israeli ambassador to US: Israel, Lebanon united in liberating Lebanon from Hezbollah

The Lebanese government have made it clear to Israel that they no longer want to be “occupied” by Hezbollah, according to Israel’s Ambassador to the United States Yechiel Leiter.

After concluding of the first direct conversation with the Lebanese Ambassador to the US Nada Hamadeh Moawad mediated by the US, Leiter told reporters on Tuesday that the countries also discussed working together on security and a long-term vision for a “clearly delineated border”.

This comes as Israeli troops continue their offensive into Lebanon and attack multiple sites in the south of the country.
