US Centcom says no ships passed through first day of US Hormuz blockade

The US Central Command claimed on Tuesday that “no ships made it past the US blockade” on the Strait of Hormuz during the first 24 hours of its operation.

“More than 10,000 US Sailors, Marines, and Airmen along with over a dozen warships and dozens of aircraft are executing the mission to blockade ships entering and departing Iranian ports,” CENTCOM wrote in a post to X.

The US blockade began on Monday after ceasefire talks with Iran broke down over the Iran’s closure of the strait.
