Haaretz: Israel demolishing villages in Lebanon 'just like Gaza'

Israeli forces demolished villages in southern Lebanon using methods similar to those employed in Gaza, Haaretz reported, quoting Israeli soldiers.

“We’re behaving just like we did in Gaza,” one army source told the newspaper, adding that “There’s a list of homes to be demolished, and we measure success based on the number of buildings destroyed in a day.”

The report said bulldozers have been used to raze villages near the border fence to clear space for "permanent" military outposts.

Haaretz reported that Israeli troops have advanced to a third line of villages from the border, about 20 kilometres south of the Litani River.
