Unicef says Lebanon ceasefire ‘must hold’
The UN children's agency has welcomed the ceasefire in Lebanon after weeks of “immense suffering”.
“Over the past 46 days, children have paid a devastating price...This ceasefire must hold – and must be fully respected," Unicef said on X.
"Children need more than a pause in hostilities – they need a real chance to recover."
According to the agency, at least 172 children have reportedly been killed, 661 injured, and more than 415,000 children have been displaced in Lebanon over the past 46 days.
