Unicef halts Gaza operations after Israeli attack kills drivers
Unicef has suspended operations in northern Gaza after Israeli forces killed two contracted truck drivers at a water distribution site.
The agency said the attack took place at the Mansoura water filling point in Gaza City, where two other people were also injured.
Unicef noted that the site serves as a critical lifeline, operating several times a day to supply clean water to hundreds of thousands of residents through the Mekorot pipeline.
Following the strike, the agency halted all on-site activities, citing deteriorating security conditions.
The suspension threatens to disrupt access to safe water in Gaza City, where infrastructure damage and ongoing Israeli attacks have already pushed basic services to the brink.
