Israeli strike kills man in central Gaza as genocide death toll reaches 72,551
An Israeli drone strike has killed a Palestinian man and wounded several others in central Gaza, as the overall death toll from Israelβs genocide continues to rise.
Wafa reported that the attack targeted a motorcycle on Salah al-Din Street, northeast of Nuseirat camp. Medics at Al-Awda Hospital confirmed the death of Ayman Khaled Abu Hasna, 38, and reported that several injured passersby were taken for treatment.
Health officials in Gaza say the total number of Palestinians killed by Israel has reached 72,551, with 172,274 wounded since 7 October 2023.
Hospitals recorded two deaths over the past 24 hours, including one body recovered from under the rubble.
Since the 11 October "ceasefire", officials say 775 people have been killed and 2,171 wounded, while rescue teams have retrieved 761 bodies from destroyed buildings.
Many victims remain trapped beneath debris or lie in the streets.
