Pakistan pledges to mediate for ‘lasting peace’ in region

Pakistan has reaffirmed its role as a mediator in regional tensions, with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stressing Islamabad’s commitment to diplomacy.

Speaking after a call with the Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Sharif said Pakistan is ready to help facilitate efforts aimed at easing tensions and securing stability.

He said he had assured the Iranian leader that Pakistan remains dedicated to playing a mediating role in the crisis.

“We are committed to playing a mediating role to achieve lasting peace.”
