NBC poll: Trump approval at 37 percent as war divides voters

US President Donald Trump’s job approval rating has fallen to 37 percent, a second-term low, according to a poll released by NBC News.

The survey found 63 percent of US adults disapprove of his performance, including 50 percent who said they strongly disapprove, with views driven in part by his handling of the war with Iran.

The poll said 33 percent of respondents approved of Trump’s handling of the war, while 67% disapproved, reflecting a sharp partisan divide.

It found 82 percent of Democrats and independents disapproved, compared with 74 percent of Republicans who approved.

Opposition was higher among younger people, with 74 percent of those under 30 saying the US should not take further military action in Iran.
