Hungary’s incoming Prime Minister, Péter Magyar said that Hungary will comply with International Criminal Court arrest warrants, stating that any wanted individual entering the country would be detained — in a clear reference to Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu who is wanted by the ICC for war crimes. Speaking at a press conference in Budapest, Magyar addressed questions about his invitation to Netanyahu to visit Hungary next October for the commemoration of the 1956 uprising, despite an ICC arrest warrant issued in 2024 on charges including war crimes and crimes against humanity.
