Iran reportedly rejects Pakistan talks, citing US ‘excessive demands’

Iran has decided not to attend planned talks in Pakistan, according to the semi-official Tasnim news agency.

The report said Tehran withdrew after the US refused to ease what it described as “excessive demands”, with officials concluding negotiations would be a “waste of time”.

Tasnim said Iran has informed Pakistan and other mediators that it will not take part in the talks.

The report could not be independently verified.
