Iran executes civil defence official convicted of spying for Israel

Iran has executed a senior civil defence official convicted of spying for Mossad, according to Mizan News Agency.

The report identified the official as Mehdi Farid and said he was hanged after the Supreme Court upheld his conviction.

Mizan said Farid had confessed to attempting to pass sensitive information to Israeli intelligence, including organisational details, facility layouts and personnel records.
