Trump says Hormuz 'totally BLOCKADED’ by US, claims Iran wants it open

US President Donald Trump said the Strait of Hormuz is “totally blockaded” by the United States and claimed Iran wants it reopened to maintain oil revenues.

Writing on his Truth Social platform, Trump said Iran loses hundreds of millions of dollars daily if the Strait is closed.

“They only say they want it closed because I have it totally BLOCKADED (CLOSED!), so they merely want to ‘save face’,” he wrote, adding that reopening the waterway without broader conditions would make a deal unlikely.

He also said US officials had been approached about reopening the strait in recent days.
