Hezbollah said on Tuesday it had carried out a strike on an Israeli settlement, in its first such announcement since a temporary ceasefire between the two sides came into effect. In a statement, the Lebanese group said its fighters targeted an Israeli army artillery position in the settlement of Kfar Giladi in northern Israel, using a volley of rockets and a swarm of attack drones. It added that the site was the source of recent artillery shelling towards the town of Yahmar al-Shaqif in southern Lebanon, saying the operation was carried out “in defence of Lebanon and its people, and in response to blatant and documented breaches of the ceasefire”.
