US embassy urges citizens to leave Lebanon amid security risks

The US embassy in Beirut has renewed a security alert, urging American citizens to depart while commercial flights remain available.

In a statement, it said the situation “remains complex and can change quickly”.

Those choosing to stay were advised to prepare for emergencies and remain cautious of unexploded ordnance.
