Thousands of sailors stranded as maritime standoff at Hormuz continues

Thousands of sailors from India and other countries have been left stranded in the Strait of Hormuz as escalating tensions disrupt one of the world’s busiest shipping routes.

The situation comes amid increased military activity and uncertainty over safe passage through the waterway.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said it had seized a vessel identified as “Epaminodes”, suspected of links to the United States military, while US Central Command reported intercepting a ship heading towards an Iranian port.
