Republican Party weighs strategy as Iran war impacts voters

The Republican Party is working to reshape its strategy ahead of the November midterm elections as rising fuel prices and declining approval ratings for US President Donald Trump pose challenges. The economic strain linked to the war with Iran has become a central concern for voters.

Party strategists are increasingly focusing on economic messaging and policy achievements while trying to avoid making the elections a direct referendum on Trump, whose approval has fallen into the mid-30 percent range.
