Trump says DC shooting not linked to Iran as probe widens

US President Donald Trump said he does not believe the shooting in Washington is linked to Iran, adding that authorities will continue investigating the incident.

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche said charges would be filed soon, noting the seriousness of the attack.

Federal Bureau of Investigation Director Kash Patel said investigators are examining weapons recovered from the scene and interviewing witnesses.

Interim police chief Jeffery Carroll said the suspect was armed with multiple weapons and that there is no indication at this stage of additional suspects.
