Israeli warplanes strike southern Lebanon, says state media

Lebanese official media said Israel's military began striking the country's south on Sunday, despite the ongoing ceasefire.

Israeli warplanes launched a strike in Kfar Tibnit, the state-run National News Agency said, adding that there were reports of casualties.

Israel's military has carried out repeated strikes in Lebanon since the truce came into force on 17 April.

Israeli troops continue to occupy parts of Lebanon within what it has deemed a "yellow line", near the Israeli border, and has threatened Lebanese residents not to return to area.

On Sunday it warned residents to evacuate seven towns that are beyond the "yellow line", including Kfar Tibnit.
