US intercepts vessel in Arabian Sea over Iran embargo

The US Central Command (Centcom) said it intercepted a commercial vessel in the Arabian Sea that was attempting to breach an embargo related to Iran.

The ship, identified as “Sevan,” was described as part of a network transporting Iranian oil and gas products.

Centcom said a US Navy helicopter from the guided-missile destroyer USS Pinckney carried out the interception. The vessel is now complying with US directives and is being escorted back toward Iran.
