Lebanon’s Public Health Emergency Operations Centre said on Sunday that Israeli air strikes on southern Lebanon killed 14 people, including two children and two women, and wounded 37 others, among them three women. In a statement, the centre said the toll relates to strikes carried out on 26 April, without giving further details on the locations targeted. The Israeli army continues to carry out systematic demolition and destruction operations affecting dozens of towns and villages in southern Lebanon, as part of a “scorched earth” policy aimed at establishing a buffer zone to prevent more than one million displaced Lebanese from returning to their homes.
