UN official warns Gaza faces 'ongoing' deadly Israeli strikes

Khaled Khiari, United Nations assistant secretary general for the Middle East, said Gaza is enduring “ongoing and deadly Israeli strikes” alongside severe humanitarian conditions.

He told the UN Security Council that about 1.8 million people are displaced and reliant on aid, while the ceasefire remains increasingly fragile.

Khiari also warned that Israel’s violence and settlement expansion in the West Bank are undermining prospects for a political solution.
